A few weeks ago I had a day trip to Notting Hill planned and I was delighted the weather was on my side. It was a lovely sunny spring day which I was hoping for so we could wonder the pretty streets and Portobello Road of course.
The day started with brunch, as most activities revolve around my stomach! I had heard really good things about Granger & Co so we popped over to see what all the hype was about. After a short queue outside it didn’t disappoint. I went for scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with a side of avocado salsa and it was delicious. Who knew scrambled egg could be so yummy! The atmosphere inside was great, the staff soon put you at ease and make you forget you had to queue up to get in.
After a fabulous chilled brunch we went for a little stroll and looked at all of the stunning houses. I love wondering around Notting Hill and I hadn’t done it for ages, it was so nice. I definitely got a little bit of house envy though 🙂
I had a little treat in store as I was then off for a Cowshed massage which I was looking forward to so much. I haven’t been very well recently and it has left my body all achy so this was the perfect remedy. You can read all about my experience here.
After an absolutely blissful experience at Cowshed spa I wondered around the streets of Notting Hill in a bit of a post treatment haze. Of course any trip to Notting Hill isn’t complete without a walk down Portobello Road and the market so we headed in that direction. The vibe definitely changes as soon as you get to this bustling street; busy market workers shouting, music everywhere and you see some weird and wonderful things down this road too.
A day of wondering the streets reminded me just how beautiful London is in spring, particularly Notting Hill. I’ll definitely be returning on my next free weekend.
