Cup & Cake Barcelona

I could sit here and write an endless list of amazing tapas restaurants…Bar del Pla, Tapeo del Born, Bodega La Puntual etc…but when I go to Barcelona there is always one place I like to visit – Cup & Cake. When I say 1 place, it is actually a small independent group now with 5 restaurants which has quickly grown in the past few years due to thier success and popularity.

The atmosphere in each restaurant is friendly, light and inviting. The food is simply delicious and almost too pretty to eat.

In the first picture you can see healthy red velvet pancakes with cashew and coconut paste, acai berry, tropical fruits and granola. I am not usually a sweet person but this caught my eye as I do love red velvet. It was so yummy I do not regret my decision at all. Although my firm favourite dish has to be the quinoa burger (with a side of their amazing guac), they get their flavours spot on every time. Layers of perfectly seasoned quinoa, melted cheese, humus and fresh brioche on a bed of yummy salad. It is one of my favourite brunch dishes ever and I am yet to discover a better quinoa burger in the UK.

These are only two of the yummy dishes on their menu, as you may have guessed, this is the perfect place for a spot of brunch but be warned – it does get busy so be prepared to wait if you go at a popular time or with a bigger group.

Next time you are in Barcelona and fancy an alternative to tapas, this place would be my recommendation. Anyone else know any good food spots in Barcelona..?

It certainly is worth a second, or even third visit! I need to find an equivalent in London now as it could become an expensive brunch habit 🙂
