By now you must all know I love a good brunch. When I read about Mac and Wild’s brunch menu I had to try this Scottish inspired brunch for myself.
It’s somewhere I had been meaning to try for a while but not got round to it. So Saturday morning Tom and I got up early and wondered over to the west end. We’d both had a few drinks after work on Friday so we were so looking forward to a good brunch.
Let’s talk about the interior first – it’s quite a small little place but by no means inferior. True to its main theme, its interior was heavily focused on sourcing meat. You get a very good sense of what the restaurant is about just by looking around. We were sat at a lovely wooden table and left to browse the menus.
Now on to the fun stuff – the food. They offer a small but perfectly formed choice of dishes for brunch. I was feeling like I needed a few vitamins so chose avocado on toast, while Tom chose the Scottish breakfast (a little bit more substantial than my choice). I must admit, I was looking forward to seeing Tom’s breakfast more than my own.
They arrived and wow my neatly stacked avo on toast looked so yummy. Tom’s plate was great too, everything you’d expect to have on a Scottish breakfast. It was so good. I’m a sucker for sourdough toast but this was amazing and the avocado was fresh and well seasoned.
Overall this was a great start to our day, lovely, friendly staff and great food. What more could you ask for on a Saturday morning..?
