Matcha Mint Cooler

Eat Clean Tea are on a mission to find healthy alternative summer drinks and have asked bloggers to come up with some ideas. When I discovered the #SummerOfMatcha recipe challenge I was so excited as I love experimenting.

Matcha seems to be everywhere at the moment and a bit of a buzzword. It is high in antioxidants, increases energy levels as well as your metabolism and boosts your immune system with high levels of Potassium, Vitamins A & C, Iron, Protein, and Calcium. Not to mention its detoxifying powers which cleanse the body of toxins. Overall this product has a total zen feeling surrounding it, only relaxing moments are associated with it and that is exactly what I wanted my drink to portray.

I decided to go down the refreshing citrus route having chosen the matcha and mint green tea mix, so here is my recipe…

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

2 scoops of Eat Clean Matcha & Mint Green Tea Mix

1 lime

1/2 lemon

A handful of fresh mint

8 ice cubes

A cup full of water

Instructions:

Mix 2 scoops of matcha powder with a splash of water and whisk together.

Then chop the lime into wedges, slice the lemon and pick a handful of fresh mint leaves.

Place the matcha mix, lime wedges, lemon slices, mint and 6 ice cubes along with a cup full of water into a cocktail shaker. Leave a few wedges of lime out to decorate the glass with.

Once mixed sufficiently empty the mix into your favourite glass, add a few more ice cubes and enjoy.

This gives you a surprisingly light, fresh and zesty drink, not so dissimilar to a mojito – minus the rum! If anyone has any other matcha tea recipes I would love to hear them, feel free to leave a comment below.

Ooo this sounds really good I’ll have to give it a try, thanks for sharing! I love green tea and have been trying matcha on and off for a number of years but haven’t quite fallen in love with it yet, but I like the sound of it with mint and citrus.
