The newest addition to The Ivy’s collection of all-day British brasseries – The Ivy Tower Bridge opened last week and I had the pleasure of visiting the sparkly new eatery. Located along Southbank at the foot of Tower Bridge, you’re not short of a spectacular view from their outdoor terrace. But some may argue the view is better on the inside! From the perfectly polished floors to the beautifully upholstered furniture and marble table tops, this is one very pretty brasserie.
We were attentively seen to our table and offered drinks straight away, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a glass of fizz even if it was only Wednesday. Drinks were closely followed by a little starter – truffle and parmesan arancini’s which were a dream. Perfectly crisp on the outside but delicious creamy risotto in the middle. Can we also just take a minute to appreciate how pretty the table looks in the below picture! If I could have this in my living room I would!!
Mains were equally as yummy and were traditional english dishes with a nice little modern twist to them. Sounds bizarre but the heritage tomatoes were amazing! Who knew tomatoes could taste so nice.
To round off a nice meal we finished with two cappuccinos before heading home for the evening. There was a pretty little ivy leaf sprinkled on top of my coffee that was almost too cute to mess up but I needed coffee!
Our visit was everything you would expect and more. From start to finish the staff were attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and it was an amazing setting to spend the evening in. Has anyone been to any of The Ivy brasseries before? What did you think?
