Roadtrip to Whitstable

Last Saturday we decided to do something impromptu and go on a road trip. We ended up in the charming little seaside town of Whitstable. Known for its fresh and tasty shellfish, Whitstable has an array of restaurants that line the beaches.

We parked up just outside of the main town high street and made our way through the charming streets to Tankerton Beach. The high street was full of amazing antique stores so it took a little longer than we originally thought to reach the sea front.

It wouldn’t be a trip to the seaside without a relax on the beach. So we stopped and chilled by the seafront for a while, watching the clouds whizz by. Walking along Tankerton promenade was lovely, it’s lined with so many colourful beach huts and it’s so quiet and relaxing.

We finished our trip with fish and chips and an ice cream before heading back for the day. This beautiful little spot was only an hour’s drive away from us, but you can also easily get from London to Whitstable in under 2 hours by train. This makes it the perfect little getaway if you need to escape from the city.

I’m so lucky to live in Kent but haven’t been to Whitstable for years – you’ve inspired me to fit it in this summer 🙂 lovely photos!
