A couple of weeks ago I visited Sipsmith Distillery in Chiswick and had the grand tour. It feels very apt to write this post seen as its #internationalginandtonicday. For all you gin lover, and I know there are a lot of you, this tour is a must.
Everything from how the company was born to what goes into each and every bottle of gin can be learnt during the tour. It felt slightly strange but good to be standing in the place where one of my favourite gins gets bottled up.
You’re greeted with a nice classic G&T while you wait for the talk to start. You then get a whistle-stop history lesson about gin, leading onto how Sipsmith was founded – very interesting by the way!
You then learn about how the copper stills work and make the lovely spirit we all love and drink. One of my favourite parts of the tour was the testing wall. Sipsmith are constantly searching for the perfect gin for us, so there are many different small batches for limited edition flavours.
To end the tour you get to try the Sipsmith Sloe Gin which is A-MAZING if you haven’t tried it already. If you are a true gin lover then this is an experience you should definitely try. You can purchase as a gift from notonthehighstreet.com or directly from Sipsmith website.
