Sipsmith Hot Gin Roof Pop-Up

Sipsmith Hot Gin Roof Pop-Up

London isn’t short on pop-up’s but last weekend I went to one of my favourites yet. Naturally if you pair one of my favourite hotels and gins together it’s going to be a winner but this surpassed my expectations.

Ham Yard Hotel and Sipsmith have teamed up once again to put on quite an experience. At first you may not think the words hot and gin go together but, don’t discount it!

In the beautiful setting of the Ham Yard rooftop terrace, the team invite you to discover gin in a very different way. Surrounded by candles, patio heaters and cosy sofas with personalised blankets (nice touch Sipsmith!), you are introduced to the hot G&T. Unsurprisings containing Sipsmith signature London dry gin mixed with a hot homemade tonic syrup and dried orange to give it a lovely aroma. The perfect tipple for a cold winters evening.

After that you can choose from an array of delicious hot, yes you guessed it, gin based cocktails. As I am a fan of espresso martini’s, how could I resist The Pharmaceutical cocktail – a heavenly, silky coffee and gin cocktail. They have taken espresso martini’s to a whole new level! I am going to have to discover how to get these on a more regular basis now!!

To accompany your cocktails you can order an array of nibbles or sharing platters if you wish. I couldn’t turn down an english cheese board so the choice was easy.

After we munched our way through the cheese and finished our cocktails it was time to go. I could have easily spent all evening there but I don’t think my head would have thanked me in the morning. I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye out for any potential collaborations these two do in the future!

I’m on the look out for the next pop-up to try, anyone have any suggestions..?

Oh no! Keep an eye out as they tend to be quite popular. Have you heard of the Sipsmith Distillery Tour, think you’d be interested in that too…http://bit.ly/2euXm21 x

I adore classic G&Ts, so refreshing but the definitely feel like a spring/summer drink to me. I adore this hot take on them that makes them perfect for fall winter too! Bravo Ham Yard, looks like a perfect cozy spot!
