Besides being on my list of things to do before I am 30, I have wanted to go to Ibiza for a while now. Not only to dance through the night, although there was a fair bit of that, I also wanted to see what else the island had to offer and boy did it have a lot!
There is so much more than the partying side to Ibiza. This beautiful Balearic Island has gorgeous shorelines, hilltop views and some stunning secret beaches. The kind that only locals know how to access or can only be reached by boat!
I visited with Tom and 6 of our friends, due to the number of us travelling we hired an Airbnb. I am no stranger to Airbnb, I’ve used it for accommodation in many cities including New York, Prague, San Fran, Amsterdam and the list could continue but never for a sunny holiday like this.
It was perfect! The villa was massive, had air conditioning and the best part about it was the garden and our own private pool. This made the holiday in many ways, it allowed us to have chilled days by the pool with music on and sangria in hand. The perfect recipe for lots of pool fun!
I have a real mix of highlights from this trip, dancing the night away in Pacha listening to Craig David and Martin Solveig play was amazing. You know you’ve had a good night if you still aren’t ready to leave at 6am! But on the other extreme I loved hiring a boat and relaxing while sailing around the island. Some of the bays we were taken to were so stunning with crystal clear water and bright white sand. The boat trip was made even better when a surprise pod of dolphins made a visit while the sun was setting! Breathtaking.
Something I’d also recommend doing is exploring the old town. Gorgeous cobbled streets sweeping up the hill to the castle. You’ll find some lovely bars and restaurants up there.
This trip was so good we all arrived home and considered rebooking straight away. Somehow I can see this becoming a regular trip!
Who’s been to Ibiza..? What would be your top recommendations of things to do or places to see…
