Tale as old as time afternoon tea

Tale as old as time afternoon tea

I wish I could start every week the way I started last week…cuddled up by a fire, eating cakes and being waited on. It was finally time to experience the infamous ‘Tale As Old As Time’ afternoon tea at the Kensington Hotel and it didn’t disappoint!

With the theme quite evidently being Beauty and the Beast, this originally launched to celebrate the release of the new film last year. Having been so popular, they have been extending the time it’s available however, at present it is only available til the end of June. I have my fingers crossed they extend it again for anyone who hasn’t been able to experience it yet!

From Lumiere and Cogsworth props to Mrs Potts, chip and sweet treats inspired by the film, no detail is spared. As you’d expect, the staff are very attentive and live and breath the ‘be our guest’ motto from the film.

I have to admit, some of the cakes weren’t to my liking – some where a little too sweet but there were some equally as delicious treats in there too. I’m a huge fan of afternoon tea already but this was a lovely experience and I highly recommend it – if you can get tickets!

Who’s a fan of afternoon tea? Where would you recommend for an afternoon of tea and cake?

  1. Wow, Holly! This looks like a magical experience! I love the fact that you had Cogsworth and Lumiere as well as all of the other characters on your table, what an adorable touch! I’m intrigued by what the grey stuff tasted like hehe! Sorry that not everything was to your taste, I’m glad that on the whole you’d recommend it though!
