Does anyone else get the theme tune pop into their head’s when someone mentions Harry Potter…no, just me..? Ok, well a few month’s ago I visited Harry Potter Studios for the first time. The primary reason for visiting was a birthday present for Tom’s neice, but I’m not sure who was more excited, her or me!
I mean, lets face it, growing up with Harry Potter was pretty cool. And I’m sure we all wanted school to be like Hogwarts when we were younger. Alas, it didn’t turn out that way but I do like to fantasise from time to time. It’s much more exciting than real life, don’t you think..?
We all know Warner Bros can put on a show so this was by no means a disappointment. From the second you enter the car park there are snippets of your fantastic childhood waiting for you.
A little like a theme park you enter and queue up to go into your first room. I won’t ruin any surprises but they introduce you to the studio in such a magical way.
From sets to costumes and props, everything that’s laid out for you gives you a great insight into how it was filmed and surprisingly, it doesn’t take any of the magic away.
Personal highlights were the grand hall and diagon alley. I love the sets so much. Some seriously talented people produced these!!
During the self-guided tour you have to visit the cafe for a butter beer, although I’m not sure I’m entirely sold on the stuff! Either way, it’s a stop you must do.
I’m not going to go into too much more detail because I don’t want to ruin the experience for anyone but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a huge amount to see and do. I highly recommend for anyone who is a fan of good old HP! Or…you know, have a younger sibling or distant relative you “need” to take 🙂
Who’s been and experienced it for themselves? I need to go back and see the newly opened enchanted forest asap!
