Well the temperature has certainly dropped and I am becoming my usual hermit-like self (snuggled away in the warm until the sun comes out again). As much as I’d like to avoid the cold unfortunately it’s necessary to go outside from time to time. As always the cold weather can cause dry skin and that’s something I like to avoid also. This year I am loving the below products and I don’t know what I would do without them…
Your hands are one of the most exposed areas of skin and are often the first part of your body to suffer from the cold. They can also be one of the first areas of skin to age (scary I know), so don’t neglect them! I am in love with this product as it contains nourishing shea butter and lavender essential oils to moisturise your hands. Not only does it sink into your skin quickly, the smell is heavenly! You may all know my love for lavender already if you read my post last year about the lavender fields, so this product is an absolute favourite of mine. This product also comes in a convenient handbag size which makes it an ideal travel product.
I have decided to take a break from getting shellac nails, especially after the festive month and continuous shellac after shellac. My, usually strong healthy nails, have become weak and are breaking so I turned to the Nail HQ all in one treatment to condition and strengthen them again. Containing Acai Berry and Argan Oil, it really does strengthen and nourish your nails, promoting stronger nail growth.
One of my childhood favourite lip balms. I remember going to the shops and picking up Lypsyl with my pocket money when I was younger. At the end of last year I was invited to a Lypsyl event, they have recently relaunched the brand and introduced new scents. Not only do they have the original Lypsyl, they also have several lovely scented balms to choose from now including Sensual Coconut & Almond, Invigorating Mint & Fennel and Refreshing Cucumber & Aloe to name a few. All 6 new lip balms are enriched with aloe vera, vitamin E and avocado oil to moisturise and protect lips.
Ok this one isn’t really skin care but I couldn’t leave it out as I’ve been loving this product over the last few weeks. I love nothing more than lighting candles on a dark winters day. There is something so relaxing about the flickering light and delicate scents that make rooms feel so cosy, I cannot resist. The Neom tranquility candle contains 19 essential oils including English lavender, sweet basil & jasmine, all expertly blended to help you relax and prepare for sleep.
What’s better than a bath with your favourite bubbles on a cold winters day..? This west country handmade bubble bath has a relaxing scent containing essential oils of Lavender & Grapefruit, alongside notes of Lemongrass, Sweet Orange, Cinnamon Leaf, Mandarin, Geranium and Petitgrain. A delicate blend that creates the perfect relaxing and cleansing soak to ease muscles.
Clarins Extra-Firming Mask
As the name would suggest, this mask is formulated to help firm your skin but it has also been designed to diminish the signs of tension and stress. It has a lovely light cream-gel texture that sinks into the skin, the result is a plump radiant complexion. It’s not like most masks that dry and have to be washed off, this mask sinks into your skin and any excess cream that is left after 10-15 minutes can be removed if needed.
So there they are, my go-to winter skincare products. What are your must-have products? I would love to hear.
